The Person – Friendly, Patient. Open-minded.
Dana was brought up in a rural setting in Nova Scotia, Canada. Fast forward to his late teens, he was living in the renowned ski resort of Whistler, British Columbia, in search of achieving something no other male from the Maritimes had done before; become a member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team. Learning from daily challenges and continued dedication resulted in victories. A wide range of cultural experiences and belief that there is more than one way to achieve a task created his open minded nature and patience.
The Athlete – USA Cycling National Champion. World Cup Ski Racer.
Sport has always been a part of Dana’s life. A natural athletic ability has provided a solid foundation to achieve a degree of success in many sports. His greatest achievements have come in skiing and cycling. He was a member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team from 1997-2000. Three successive right knee ACL ruptures forced retirement. Cycling was an easy transition based on the muscle development and recruitment of skiing, combined with the skills he acquired as a top ranked teenage mountain bike racer.
Dana achieved his goal of becoming a national champion in 2015 when he won the USA Cycling Masters 40-44 Criterium Championship race in Ogden, Utah. In addition his results include multi-time California State (NCNCA district) Champion in the elite and masters categories, 3rd in the 2016 USA Cycling Masters 40-44 Criterium Championshp, 5th in the 2015 Elite Criterium Championship and one top 6 and three top 15 finishes at 2014 BC Superweek (attended by many North American Pro Continental Teams).
